Our structure focuses specifically on commodities for clients whose needs are for the production of renewable energy.
We started this business with the knowledge that huge value lies in often discarded waste. Metos Energy’s pillars were founded on the research, consultancy and brokerage of agricultural residues and we have since expanded on the biofuel commodities which create a circular value and economy.
Our research and consultancy branch allows us to accelerate innovation in new renewable energy products.
While our clients and suppliers are located globally, we offer them the option to select suppliers based on their values such as proximity, certification or country of origin to respect responsible supply chain values and to decrease carbon footprint in shipping.

Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. In particular:
Target 7.2: By 2030, increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix
Target 7.a: By 2030, enhance international cooperation to facilitate access to clean energy research and technology, including renewable energy, energy efficiency and advanced and cleaner fossil-fuel technology, and promote investment in energy infrastructure and clean energy technology
Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation. In particular:
Target 9.2: Promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and, by 2030, significantly raise industry’s share of employment and gross domestic product, in line with national circumstances, and double its share in least developed countries.
Target 9.3: Increase the access of small-scale industrial and other enterprises, in particular in developing countries, to financial services, including affordable credit, and their integration into value chains and markets
Target 9.4: By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities Social
Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss. In particular:
Target 15.1: By 2020, ensure the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of terrestrial and inland freshwater ecosystems and their services, in particular forests, wetlands, mountains and drylands, in line with obligations under international agreements
>> Metos actively offers solutions for companies who traditionally use forest / woody biomass and help them find alternatives to wood from forests. By helping companies source (as locally as possible) agricultural residues, we help reduce the dependency on forests.
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
In particular:
Target 12.2: By 2030, achieve the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources
Target 12.3: By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses
Target 12.5: By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse
>> Metos works towards these targets by giving a purpose to agricultural waste and residues. Many farmers and suppliers we work with are not aware of the value of their waste. We educate them and exchange on the possibilities.
Non-sellable, crop waste or unsold crops from nuts and fruit growers can still be processed and cleaned to use the shells, husks and stones for biomass as solid biofuel for heating and generating electrical and thermal energy.
